This really got me thinking and I was surprised at the results! There are only a few things. Here are the things I don’t do anymore:
- Sunday lunch. This was a big thing for us as a family – sitting down for a big roast dinner on a Sunday. But with Phil working some weekends and, if I’m honest, the cost of a joint of meat it just doesn’t happen anymore.
- My Mom and Nan always hang up a hot cross bun on Good Friday to bring good luck (they take down the rock hard one from the year before then!). I don’t really see the point of this!
- Fish Friday. We don’t have fish and chips every Friday!
- Shopping on a Saturday. This was tradition as my dad used to work on a Saturday morning so me and Mom used to go to the shop and get everything for the week. Now I do it when we need it!
Now that I’ve written it out, it doesn’t seem much but these were big things which punctuated our week 😊
