As a white Christian woman in the UK, there are so many parts of my cultural heritage that I’m a horribly ashamed of! However my ancestors were part of the female nail and chain makers in the Cradley Heath in the West Midlands in the early 1900s and I am so so proud of them and all that they achieved.
Those women went on strike to earn a living wage and they got it!!! I sometimes have to remind myself of this is I’m a having a day feeling sorry for myself – the could have lost their jobs but they kept fighting for what was right and they won!!
Anyone having an off day, week, month or year, keep going! You’re doing brilliantly and this will be part of your history that your descendants will look back on and be proud of howI strong you were 😘
